We were a group of 11 and made the booking to pay on arrival - total cost 960 for 3 rooms. One person was going to pay the majority of the bill for 9 of us, with 2 wishing to pay 96 each separately. The front desk staff seemed completely out of their depth with this request and took a long time to navigate around what we wanted. Whilst having some pay separately may not have been the most straightforward way of managing things, we didn't expect a Hilton to struggle in the way that it did. Staff needed to keep checking things out with their colleagues and not making it clear what the issue was, so it took a long time with them waiting for colleagues to be free to assist. In the end, the payments were split per room rather than per person which wasn't preferred but might have been a computer system thing? We weren't really clear on what the issue was. We just felt that the check in process could have been so much smoother - instead, it was awkward, chaotic and very time consuming to the point where we had to phone the restaurant we were heading to and push the reservation back. One of our room bookings (for one double bed & single bed in same room - 3 people) was also changed by the hotel into adjoining rooms but we appeared to have been charged the extra which we are going to challenge. We asked for rooms to be close together and we were placed on different floors. Considering we booked it in October 2022 for an April 2023 stay, this was also disappointing. The rooms were also not equipped for the number of guests specified per room e.g. only one towel between 2 people....! There were also only 2 coffee cups per 4 people in the bedrooms and not enough milk. We expected better from the brand really and felt a bit cheated for 320 per room. On the plus side, the hotel and rooms were very clean, and with all the facilities you'd expect from a Hilton. Nice touches in the room inc. bottles of water and a fridge. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. We got a free prosecco voucher as the hotel changed our reservation (see above) which was nice. Walkability: Very near Angel tube station
