Hallo, I am Clive Jones, I served in charge of the 'Green Watch' @ E28 Bexley from 1985 - 1993, I retired on 28.06.1993, and now live in Co Cork, Ireland. During my time at E28 my crew and I were responsible for changing the 'Forecourt' from plain 'Concrete Slabs' to the Trees + Plants that now make a more pleasant display, we also had a lovely pond full of 'Goldfish. We used to get all our trees + Plants from 'Bexley Council' garden centre @ 'Hall Place'. In the late 1980s due to a heavy fall of 'Snow' I took my Crew out to visit all the 'Retired Members' on our 'Ground' then with great trepidation I informed the 'Chief Officer' of my actions, expecting a reprimand - but got congratulations and a reply from him to the effect that in future bad weather all 'Stations would be encouraged to visit their 'Retired Members' - gradually my initiative evolved through the 'Welfare' to including free burial up to the age of '60' for all retired members where ever they lived, sadly I am now to old to avail of this 'Perk' being now almost 85, but in the pharology of messages from incidents in my day - I've 50% spread (waist) Half of Roof Off (hairline) but still Mobile & Available. So - Great memories - enjoying retirement, and 'Best Wishes for Christmas & New Year' to you all. Clive Jones
