The Manor House care home, Barnard Castle

I would vote 0 stars if I could. Our grandmother has been a resident of this home since 2018 and has spent the majority of her time confined to her room through ridiculous covid restrictions enforced by the staff. On numerous occasions we have been told the entirety of the home would have to be locked down because one person had tested positive for covid, no matter that all the residents have all been isolating in their private rooms since the start of the pandemic. This has ruined plans we have had to provide my grandmother with some much needed respite from staring at four walls and having little to no social interaction with anyone. The latest lockdown was enforced because two staff members tested positive for covid, staff members who are not residents of the home. The mental well being of the residents has been put to the bottom of the priority list, you would have better conditions and treatment in a prison, let alone a care facility with fees to rival a 5* hotel. This is not a reflection on the staff who have been looking after our grandmother, but the operating company and feckless management whose only concern is lining their pockets with vulnerable people's money. Disgusting.
