Absolutely brilliant service from John. Took in my Hohner pro TE X11 which was almost unplayable & within 48 hours it was transformed to better than original - plays like butter. Full re-fret & set up + other bits & bobs - fabulous job - great guy - wish I could give 6 stars.

Coming out of a 10-year playing hiatus due to work commitments I finally got round to sorting my bass guitar collection. Amongst this is an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 natural velvet of 1995 vintage. It was unplayable. The rosewood fingerboard had parted in places from the neck and the neck had actually shrunk. This is unheard of in such well built basses. Found John ( Wesley Guitars ) via internet and a nice drive out to Barnard Castle ensued with me dropping the bass off and eager to see if it could be resurrected. One week later back at Johns place. The neck issues were more serious than imagined but credit to Johns luthier skills where neck is fixed, including re-fretting, dressing and full set up. Action is nice and low and bass is now playing and sounding like a Stingray should. Just need to regain my playing skills to do the bass justice. I will not hesitate to highly recommend Wesley Guitars and fully intend to hand over other basses for Johns Luthier magic dust. Thank you John

Highly recommend John's work. I recently took my Fender Jazz bass to John and for a proper set up. Outstanding work from John. The bass now has a lovely low action, beautiful fret dressing too and even fixed a issues with the volume/tone knobs. Also had the guitar back in a quick turnaround. Overall 5 stars and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to John in the future.

I bought an 83 Strat on a whim from a studio in Essex. Cosmetically it was fine, but I just couldn't get the neck right; choking and buzzing in weird places. As it turns out it was twisted and warped big style. Anyway, John took this old nail and now it might be the nicest playing e guitar I've had. I've been playing 50 years, had 100s of guitars, including lots of high end stuff. I'm going to be taking everything to John for a setup. Can't recommend highly enough, and he's a nice bloke too! Full marks.
