We rented a one bedroom ground floor flat at Meadow House for six months. It was quite the easiest and most straight forward of moves from application, renting and then leaving . The management team on site were first class and extremely helpful. On other rentals I have always felt that the landlord or his agents were always looking to catch you out , whereas in this case it was quite the opposite with being very helpful and considerate. The flats themselves were ideal and very practical . Parking for one car included . There were 24 hour fire watchers around which also helped with the feeling of security .

If you want a burnt down block of flats, a burst pipe in the building next to the burnt flat, and a melting/burning plug in the building next to that, this is the place for you . According to the Cavalry website, this is what is offered: Parcel Collection - nope Fitness Classes - nope, the Clubhouse isn't even finished and probably won't be for years Social Events - absolutely nothing, unless you count meeting your neighbours around a fire engine Onsite Maintenance - if you want messy over grown grass and burst pipes Onsite Resident Service Manager - not exactly responsive, empathetic or helpful unfortunately A Trusted, Responsible Landlord - definitely NOT. "Waking watch" is in place after the fire that destroyed 21 flats (within 8 minutes) in Hayloft House 3.5 months ago, they're put in place to alert residents if their flat is on fire, as the cause from Hayloft is still not determined, neither are residents allowed in to retrieve their valuables and personal belongings. The "Waking Watch" are often found with their heads down looking at their phones, asleep or just chatting in their cars, not exactly reassuring to any resident. If you're moving into a new flat you'll find it absolutely filthy despite there being a full clean before hand and no one living there previously. Your electrics will also be touch and go, and if you're on ground floor you'll have "Waking watch" just stand outside and look into your windows. You'd think after nearly 4 months the residents of Hayloft House would have been allowed to go inside the remains of their flats to get their personal items, or that they'd be reassured that the Cavalry is a safe place to live, or be offered a rent holiday, or be told absolutely ANYTHING about compensation. But no to all of the above. Instead Hayloft is only JUST getting fenced off, after 2 break ins a few months ago, and the residents are still desperately wanting answers. Overall there is unbelievably poor management at The Cavalry. Do not live here.
