I know the area well and was delighted to get a chance to stay at The Old Post Office. It has everything you could wish for after a long trip....a very comfy bed, a nicely set up kitchen, appliances that even jet lagged Americans can figure out. Host was very hospitable. Ready to get out and explore after a restful stay. Not sitting still long enough to try out what looks like a very promising pizza baking oven!

It was raining outside when I arrived at the Old Post Office but the 'Little Lounge & Kitchen' of the River View Studio had a lovely cosy feel & the attention to detail everywhere made me feel really special. It's a beautiful part of the world & a gorgeous building so I knew from the photos I'd seen on Instagram that it would be a real treat & I wasn't disappointed. Everywhere I turned, the quality decor & motivating, inspirational messages made me smile & the sound of the river running directly outside was very relaxing (I slept very well). Thank you Mychael & Lisa for creating such a wonderful experience for me & your other guests!

I get to experience a lot of places in my work. Im a frequent guest of boutique hotels and lodgings and have particularly high standards when it comes to experience. The Old Post Office re-writes the script when it comes to experience. Mychael and Lisa have created a very special place in beautiful surroundings. Everything about The Old Post Office inspires curiosity and there are lots of little surprises for guests along the way! (I wont spoil them here!) but you must visit. I stayed in both studios and they are both exceptional in different ways. The riverview studio provides a beautiful view overlooking the water which was perfect for working! The bar on deck was a great wind down place at the end of the day! The garden studio had a really cool vibe! I especially loved the vinyl record player and outdoor area with solar chickens (youll know what I mean when you visit! ) Anyway, if youre looking for something special, youve found it. Have a great time and soak up the magic ... Ill be back again for sure!

Great little place to stay to visit various Hadrians Wall locations. Loads of lovely little touches, from a record player & a collection of vinyl in the kitchen, to hand weighed coffee beans ready to be ground, sausages & bacon from the local butchers & an Ooni pizza oven plus ingredients to make your own dough. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner, Mychael. Only 10 mins drive from Vindolanda, Sycamore Gap & the English Heritage Hadrians Wall visitor centre.

Please don't trust this man, left my family out in the cold without warning over some loud music. No warning called the police leaving us in the cold over night in a train station. Please avoid for your family's sake
