The Black Bull Inn

Excellent food and friendly staff..Menu just a bit different from the normal and really outstanding quality .. We stayed overnight and the rooms were very good ,nice decor ,clean and warm!. Would definitely stay again and strongly recommend.. Originally visiting the vineyard nearby which closed after we had booked here but its also very close to Duxford so visited there instead..

This was the most amazing place to spend a valentines meal. Exceptional Scallops with bacon, parsnip and black pudding, sensational seafood linguini, and an exquisite passionfruit and mango mess to finish. Excellent wine and ale, and a brilliant vanilla spiced rum to finish. The chef was super friendly, the staff professional yet relaxed. Honestly, a wonderful country Inn for food and drink.

Lots to disappoint: Room and facilities old and need refreshing. Room wasnt cleaned properly and swept from one day to the next (mud on floors, tissue on floor in bathroom.) Breakfast was strictly between 0830 and 0930 so too late for an earlyish start for work. No discount offered for 2 people missing breakfast one of the mornings. No milk in room to make a coffee in the morning. No extras such as biscuits either. No buffet of fresh pastries for breakfast and mass produced toast bread. We had dinner there 2 nights and the food was super, the staff were lovely. Hence they get the stars! We raised our complaints with the staff there who brought them up with management and the reply was that they didnt care. Maybe not in so many words but thats what it boiled down to. Accommodation not deserving of 4AA stars.
