Went here to eat lunch and was given a stone-cold steak pie. There was no offer to heat this up. Customers werent allowed to use any of the seating areas to eat. Was told to eat else were by a very rude worker. ** In response to the owners message. Your bakery was nowhere near amazing. Not sure what planet you are on but if you go to a bakery or cafe you need to serve the food hot and have available areas to sit. Youre are not a supermarket and comparing yourself to one is a bit odd. Tourists will want to have their lunch warmed up. I most definitely wont be back and would not recommend this supermarket to anyone.

Went for bakewell pudding, opted for a sharing option. The pudding was piping hot (as it should be!) and came with an option of custard or cream. There were a small number of fruits on top (I think personally a few more would have been nice as they did look quite lonesome) and it was clearly a very touristy place, but it was pleasant and ticked off bakewell pudding in bakewell from the bucket list. I also had a hot chocolate with the pudding, which came with cream. (I think if given the option to I would have skipped on the cream, but this was not a problem) There was a brief wait before being seated, but there was a provided waiting area in a comfortable cushioned seating area which was appreciated after having walked in from the rain.

This shop was on my must-do list when visiting from Australia but because of a rude staff member my experience was spoilt. We were eating takeaway food from this shop at the outdoor eating area when we were asked to move because takeaway could not be eaten here and then the woman said, "and it's [the food] not even from here, is it?" We assured her we had bought it not five minutes ago. There were no signs on the front of the shop, inside or on the tables to say takeaway was not to be eaten there, so we didn't know. There was, also, no-one else eating in the outdoor area nor inside, as it was nearly 3pm. So it's not as if she needed the table. Anyway, we moved when asked to but what would it have hurt to let us finish our food. We would have been gone in another ten minutes. I feel sorry for this woman who couldn't even recognise her own food and recommend to avoid this situation in the future the shop puts up signage, at least on the outdoor tables, if nothing else. Thanks for putting such a sour note in my holiday. * Dear Shop Owner, Thank you for your reply to my review. I am pleased to be able to tell you that I was in no way confused when I visited your shop. I did not see your 'polite signage' to be confused about it. The person who spoke to us was rude and the only thing I expect as a customer is not to be embarrassed by your employee. As to your hope that I enjoyed Bakewell, I can assure you that I did not. If you would like to post another sarcastic statement to my further comments, where you try to shift the blame back on to me, instead of apologising to me because I had a negative experience with your business, then please do. I can do this all day! Cheers.
