My experience beggars belief. I joined a queue of five people, which moved at a snail's pace due to the cashier's constant yabbering, instead of getting on with the job. Finally, two people ahead of me and the woman customer at the desk is blathering on about sending a parcel which it then appears she is unable to pay for on her mobile as she needs a credit card to complete her transaction and will need to go home to get it. With that, the cashier (who looks to be past retirement age) asked the customer to go home to get her card whilst she waited for her. This meant the cash desk was in effect frozen and everyone in the queue..........which had now grown to four, would have to come back later, as she was no longer able to process any more transactions at her computer. I was speechless at the absolute absurdity of the situation and utter incompetence of this woman, who should have been pensioned off years ago and is totally unfit to be behind a counter. Although I live locally, it's no surprise I haven't been back since.

Post office closes early but still able to post via checkout staff who are much friendlier.

Opening times can vary depending on which staff are working in the Spar shop. The main post office section is open normal hours, but there is a small post office till in the Spar section that is supposed to be open until Spar shuts, but it is often closed without warning. Staff can be rude & unhelpful or very polite & helpful it totally depends who's working. Try to visit during normal post office hours to be safe, but expect to queue for up to half an hour as there's rarely more than one person serving, regardless of how many people are queueing.
