My Dad moved to Bakewell Cottage Nursing Home after a spell in hospital and another home. The staff are very helpful and soon got to know his likes and dislikes. He can be very stubborn and the staff deal with this with patience, humour and kindness. When he has seen a GP or other practitioner I am told and we as a family have input to his care plan etc. It's so nice have complete peace of mind when I am away that he is being properly cared for in a lovely calm environment.

My Aunt is a resident she is 92 years old and been there since December 2018 , she is looked after very well the meals are great , they take her out in a wheelchair on sunny warm days (she really likes this) she does not suffer from dementia and loves to have conversations with all the staff . Visitors can go into the kitchen and make themselves a drink of tea or coffee . The staff are incredible and manage all her needs Thank you so much !

My mother has been resident in this care home for almost ten years. Dementia started to effect her aged just 54, I looked after her at home with help from social services for a few years but it became clear she must move into a care home for her own safety. I looked at many homes, frankly I felt I couldn't leave her in them as they seemed far from caring during my visits. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. Then I visited Bakewell Cottage and it was clear that it was a world apart from the other homes I had visited. I felt I could rest at ease if she lived there. My mother moved into the home and she has been cared for extremely well ever since. The staff are SUPERB, very hard working and very caring, the standard of care, food and cleanliness they provide is consistently excellent. My mother, while now in the late stages of dimentia is relaxed, content. I can tell she feels safe. She is loved, cared for and feels at home, which means I can sleep easier and try to get on with my own life. If you have found yourself in the unfortunate position of needing to find a nursing home for a loved one, Bakewell Cottage is worth visiting. I have significant experience of the home over the past decade. I arrive unannounced at different times of the week and day and I have never known anything but professionalism from the home. It is clear from the minute you walk in that the home is well above average and a genuinely very caring nursing home. I highly recommend it.
