We had numerous issues staying in The Belle in Bakewell, part of the Croft Cottages collection from Bakewell Retreats. Overflowing rubbish bins, all due to no instruction booklet for the guests, which if addressed by the owners, would solve the headache for this company. There wasn't a microwave, mop, bucket, hoover, dishwasher, hairdryer (we bought one in the local Boots) no useable shower, (handheld shower on a bath by a window with no curtain), so we sat in the bath and held the hose over our heads for a week. The cottage wasn't particularly clean when we arrived, I sent photos over to the manager, she offered to reclean the property, but as we were with two elderly dogs we felt it would inconvenience all of us, as the housekeeping should be up to standard in the first place. We also had no outdoor table and chairs, after we made a call a set appeared, but I was told BR had bought a few and "dotted them about" the 18 properties, so not everyone had one!? We requested and received a small refund, but I feel that if BR addressed the issues guests are having at the Bakewell town properties, it would bring them up to standard. Very disappointed, would not stay here again.
