Afternoon Tea at Pennyhill Park

Overpriced afternoon tea. The amount of food and quality does not match the price. The staff was nice and the place is gorgeous, but that was it.

Afternoon tea was extremely overpriced for what was served. The sandwiches were of poor quality and deserts were okay, but tiny scones with hardly any raisins in the raisin ones. I had been to the Fairmont Orchid Room last month where afternoon tea was priced the same, and the quality of food was simply incredible, but Pennyhill priced the same, did not live up to the same standards at all. The sandwich bread was awfully dry and stale. It tasted like the sandwiches were made the day before and the bread was hard and dry and stuck to the roof of my mouth tasting stale. There was only one medium sized milk pot and one sugar bowl between 5 people and 2 tea pots rather than smaller milk pots, and they didnt even match the rest of the crockery! Paying that much, my expectations were high and they were wholly unmet :( Very very disappointing experience.

A wonderful, calm atmosphere made for a lovely afternoon. The food and drink on offer was marvellous. It was a perfect venue and the staff made you feel pampered.

Lovely afternoon tea at this venue,fresh sandwiches,assorted cakes and scones in a brilliant setting, but special praise for Andrea who looked after us so well,a very,very pleasant afternoon, highly recommended.
