Please do not take your shoes here! Such a shame, as it was great under the previous ownership. The company acts as a go between with a cobbler - I took my brogues (Clarks 55ish) in to be reheeled AND resoled, 22.75 paid to this Dry Cleaning company. When I collected them only the heels had been done so I had overpaid. The rest of the heels had been painted a dark brown (they were a light wood before). I hadn't asked for this and it wasn't even done neatly, some paint has also transferred to the leather. The manager does not allow the reception staff to do refunds without him being present and when I finally met with him (my third visit to the shop), he insinuated (!) I may have painted the heels myself, and that the shop has cameras which will prove he didn't check the colour of the heels when I brought them in. He called me a 'Smart Woman'. He also said he does not have the authority to do refunds and the machine can't issue them. It was bizarre. He finally relented, after a long negotiation, to give me a part refund of 11.50 (remember I had paid for new soles too and they hadn't been done) and the kind receptionist present today showed him that the machine can in fact do refunds...but no accountability or compensation for the unwanted bad paint job. Terrible service and attitude, damaged shoes. In response to the owner's response to this: I have now updated this review with 3 photos of the brogues. I'll leave it with the reader's of this review to make up their own minds.

Took my dress in to ask for the cost of re-hemming. The dress is unlined so it is a simple job of taking up the hem. I was quoted 20 and agreed to go with the price. A few days later, upon picking up the dress, I was told the price is now 30, 50% more than the original quoted price. Obviously I refused the new price because it contradicts the initial price agreed and printed on my ticket. I wouldn't have gone with 30 for a simple job of taking up an unlined dress. In the end, I agreed to pay 25 which I didn't have to because 20 was printed on my ticket and I have the right to pay the price I was quoted. I will also like to add that I requested 3cm to be taken up from my dress but 1.5cm was taken up instead - so hardly any difference. I will not use this business again and will not recommend them to anybody. Service: Alterations
