What a difference 12 months makes! This place has rapidly gone down hill! Poor quality food, over priced (let's be fair things have gone up but not by this level!!) , just average food for ridiculous prices ! "It has a lovely view", just doesn't cut it for the poor level of food. Oh and 40 for a half decent red is also eye watering and it is only half decent. Won't be visiting again as it seems to be absorbing it's owners arrogance.

We have dined here twice recently, the last being today. Hencote is a beautifully appointed place and is spotless and does enjoy very good views over the Shropshire countryside, but you do have to pay through the nose for all of that. The Car Park was muddy (not what anyone wants) and could do with some gravel at the very least. The food was just 'okay' and expensive for what it was really, as were the wine and drinks etc, and it all took ages to arrive. The table service overall was very, very slow indeed and we had to repeatably ask for everything, even the bill!! The floor manager needs to step up and organise and motivate the staff. Come on, you can do better than this.
