We stayed for one night over this weekend with our two children (9&11) in a family room. On arrival, the receptionist was efficient and helpful. Quick and easy check in. The room was key card and extremely clean and welcoming. One double and two singles. It looked out onto a river and fields. Quite dated but I quite liked that. Tea, coffee and kettle etc provided. Hand wash, hair and body wash provided. Water in bathroom extremely hot but warning signs for this. Only downfall for myself was the pillows provided, although plentiful, were very thick and was uncomfortable for my neck. Personally I like a thinner pillow so would suggest one large and another slim so people can choose. The hotel is large and offers a lot as far as hotels go. Lounge areas, a green king pub / restaurants which accepts Tesco's clubcard exchange vouchers. It also has a wacky warehouse soft play, however I was disappointed as this was one of the reasons I booked the hotel for the kids. My daughter was refused entry due to height restrictions which is fair enough but she is 9, just tall for her age. I have never come across this before and she was so upset but accepted their reasons. Hotel breakfast is not included in the price but offers an extensive menu and is offered in a separate restaurant room for guests only. Other than that, you have the green king pub / restaurant which is cheaper value for money and very quiet in the mornings. The hotel is in a good location with it being 2.5 miles away from Southsea sea front taking only 15mins to drive too. Would I return ... Most definitely. Our one night stay for two adults and two children was 102. Very much enjoyed our stay.
