Great apartment - clean, well equipped - some lovely short walks around the River Leven also very close to the Lakeland Motor Museum.

We loved it here!! Stayed for 5 nights with our dog end of Jan/beginning Feb. As we only booked 3 days before we went, we got a really good price, but I suppose that could also be down to the time of year. The cottages and apartments overlook the River Levens, which is an amazing view to wake up to. We booked a dog-friendly one bedroomed cottage, and the only complaint I have, if you can call it that, was that only after we booked were we informed that dogs were not allowed on the furniture or even upstairs, so that's something that you might need to consider before booking. The cottage itself was very clean, cosy and had everything you could need for a short break away - from a hairdryer in the room, to a full set of kitchen equipment. The bedroom was a fantastic size, with a window that reached from ceiling to floor to offer the best view possible, with a cute little table and chairs. Having breakfast there one morning and was almost given a heart attack by a low flying Typhoon right over us!!! There is a hotel bang next door, The Whitewater Hotel, but I didn't get to visit - the hubby bobbed in for a quick pint to check if dogs were allowed and was told in no uncertain terms "no ANIMALS are allowed!!!" so we didn't go back Nearest places for food and drink are The Swan Hotel and Newby Bridge Hotel about 1.5 miles away - would definitely recommend The Huntsmans Inn at the Newby Bridge Hotel for food and drink. Other than that, you're perhaps looking to drive into Windermere or Ulverston. All in all a lovely, peaceful stay. I'd love to stay again if given the chance.
