Oulton Chapel isn't easy to find, but is well worth making the effort to visit. With twin Dutch gable ends, it looks more like a private house than a chapel. Owned by the Norfolk Historic Buildings Trust, it is Grade 2* listed. The non conformist chapel was built from 1827. Inside you will find original panelling, gallery and box pews. From a central reading desk, the pastor would have been able to see his entire congregation in the box pews and three-sided gallery. The gallery is supported by a mixture of "Tuscan" and cast iron columns. The high windows flood the chapel with light. The "Friends of Oulton Chapel" look after the chapel and open it between 2-4 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month, April-October. There is parking and level access across gravel.
