I feel confident when I visit with my dog Archie as he can be difficult. The girls on reception are friendly and helpful.

On the whole, its a well run practice. Prices a little high but convenient in the town and not hard to get an appointment. The vets are amazing and caring. My gripe isnt with them. My feedback is for two of the older Receptionists who come across as very snippy. They seem irritated by questions on the phone and give short responses like they cant wait to get rid of you. Its just rude. It amazes me why people do a job where they are likely to get asked questions and especially when people are likely to be upset or worried. Some customer facing training wouldnt go amiss in their case.

I decided to write this review and tell you why I can't recommend this vet practice if your pet's life is important to you. This practice can do up to date vaccinations, pet passport, basic things like this, but if your pet has a serious or unusual illness, they not up for the task in my opinion. Our best friend and family member dog passed away recently. He was six years old. I will tell his story briefly that how we reached to this point that he had to go to sleep forever in around four, five months time. He had a corkscrew tail which started to swell and got big very fast. When we took him for a check the very first time the vet should take a sample (biopsy) from the swell for further examination in the laboratory. But she didn't. Lack of experience in my opinion . The second time they did it but if it would have been done the first time it would have made our puppy's survival rate much higher. There was a whole week gap between the appointments during the antibiotic treatments, which is unacceptable. Nobody thought at the practice that this could be a cancerous growth in the first place, they were suspecting bacterial infection only. Lack of experience and knowledge, in my opinion. They should have suspected a tumor straight away if they would have known that how a tumor would look like. After a couple of weeks they have decided to surgically remove his tail. The surgery appointment was in another week time. Meanwhile this thing was just growing and growing on his tail. During this period he was treated with antibiotics which did nothing just weakened his immune system further. Then just before the surgery day they decided to postpone it for another week to give the antibiotics a chance to work which was a major mistake!! I have no clue why have they decided to postpone the surgery but I think this decision sealed our puppy's faith. I will summarize the rest because my review is getting too long. His tale was finally removed but the mass cell tumor was already spread to his body. He had chemotherapy at a specialist but there was no turning back and after a few weeks we had to put our baby to sleep. Poor soul has suffered a lot. May he rest in peace now. Hope this review will save your loved one's life if the time comes. Take your pet somewhere else. My boy could have been saved in my opinion if the staff don't lack of experience and knowledge and care a little bit more, not just doing their routine job. Also the time between the appointments were ridiculously long which is unacceptable. They should see the urgency of the matter and act accordingly. Prioritize illnesses by it's severity.

Recently took our elderly dog to an emergency out of hours appointment as she had collapsed. Naturally myself and two children were very distressed. My husband was working abroad. I left my children in the car at this point. As I walked through the door I was immediately asked by the receptionist if I'd made my mind up about what I wanted to do. I responded that I didn't want her to suffer, but I'd wait to speak with the vet first. Sadly we had to say our goodbyes. The vet said he'd leave us as long as we needed. The receptionist walked in the room, with our dog still alive at this point and myself and children saying our farewells. She felt it was the right time to start asking if I'd had cremation options explained to me. I told her to stop and that it wasn't the right time. I do feel that a review of procedure would go a long way to prevent this happening. A bit more tact and diplomacy on this occasion would have gone a long way. I can't even bring myself to return to collect her ashes and am leaving that to my husband.
