I have been going to Melanie Brown now for many years for various treatments with Mel, and every time I leave there with a big smile on my face. Always a warm welcome, always a smile from the staff and the treatments always so consistently good and very relaxing. I cannot think why it has taken me this long to write a review, probably because I am now retired and have a bit more time on my hands after a very busy working life! If anyone out there is looking for a bit of me time and a bit of pampering, then I can highly recommend a visit to Melanie Brown.

today visited your salon for the very first time for a cut and blow dry. I booked the appointment around a week ago and was really looking forward to being pampered and having my hair done. This is a luxury for myself and a real treat. I was told when I made the appointment the cost would be 35., I was happy with this as that is in the region of what I have paid before in other salons. When I arrived I spoke to the stylist and ask if she could curl the endsof my hair at the end with the straightners, as I have had done before in other salons. She explained that she would not be able to do this as she did not have time, although I was disappointed by this I accepted that you were busy. The stylist washed my hair and I enjoyed the massage chair whilst this was being done, the stylist then proceed to cut my hair as requested. After finishing my cut she then said she had time after all to curl my hair if I wanted, but explained there would be an additional charge, a jump from 35 to 52 that's 17 to curl the ends of my hair. I said to the stylist that it was fine and was happy with just the blowdry. The stylist proceeded to dry my hair with the hairdryer, but without the use of any product or hair brushes, she banged my head three times with the hairdryer and my hair was constantly in my face. By the time she had finished I felt like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards. I was expecting a luxury experience with my hair styled and a proper blow dry using hairbrushs to get lift at the roots and ends nicely curled under. I understand that you may charge extra to use the straightners afterward to achieve a particular finish, but was expecting a proper blowdry for my 35.00 I left the salon feeling like I had not had my hair done and totally ripped off for the service I received. I was so upset and disappointed with my experience at your salon today as I was really looking forward to it all week. Having your hair done is supposed to make you leave feeling good about yourself, I certainly didn't. To add Insult to injury you then sent me a text asking if I had enjoyed my experience and to recommend a friend. I did not enjoy my experience and will not be recommending your salon. Emma Wilson
