From the first point of payment right until receiving my item, it wasnt a great experience. I paid for a rental fee only to be told that they couldnt collect it at the end date due to their offices being closed and I had to pay extra to keep the item for a longer period when I didnt need to use it. I spoke to Tim Gardner and he couldnt wavier this despite it being no fault of mine. I then received my item to use it for 45 minutes and the belt snapped. I couldnt contact their offices as they were closed so due to my building work needing to continue I had no choice to hire my item elsewhere. I contacted Lakeside Hire regarding what had happened and I havent received any response regarding a refund. My issue wasnt the belt snapping as I understand things like this can happen, however, the aftercare has been disappointing. Looking at the reviews it seems they have very positive ones hence my order. However, I cant say mine was great and I was very disappointed with the overall customer service and aftercare.

I have been using this company for a little over three years and ordered MANY times. We have used their scaffolding towers often & always paid upfront and had no issues. They have all of a sudden started doing credit checks without permission & our company was refused and a refund was given (with no phone call when I was told I would be called) even though I paid in full by DEBIT card, which means the money was there and being held by them. Our company doesn't have the best credit history because we are new and unexperienced in running a full time business of our scale. I have never once asked for credit and to get an email, the day before I'm due to do a job, to be told they would be unable to supply our company, makes me want to tell everyone to avoid! They've lost a loyal customer and I've had to upset one of our valued customers!
