We contracted Bellavista to do an extension in July 21 and would strongly warn others not to. We have waited 10 months to write a review as we were worried we would never hear from them again once we posted it. This must be why there are hardly any reviews on here considering how many clients they have. Read full review if you are thinking of using BV. I have tried to stick to the facts. All started well. They seem very friendly, nothing seems like too much trouble. Its only when the contract was signed that things changed. They said the work would be done in 14 days and promised to start in August 2021. That was then shifted back 1 month. After foundations were laid it was delayed again until November and then work took place in drips and drabs. Due to global supply chain issues the excuses seemed quite reasonable but the problem was communication. We rarely knew when someone was showing up. It became apparent that the floor had been built so low and lopsided which cost extra to fix. We owed a percentage of the money on completion of the building being watertight. On the day this was supposed to happen I came home to wooden boards instead of windows. I was sent a bill for it being watertight but windows had not been delivered so we didn't consider the build to be watertight. After a disagreement they agreed and the windows then showed up. I was then sent the invoice the minute the builders left and told it was overdue. Then again 30 minutes later, then again. By 5.30pm, we had been chased 4 times for payment. (We paid all other payments straight away too. We would never withhold payment for no reason) This wasnt a small amount of money and the contract states that when you make a payment, you are signing off the area as complete so you can imagine why we wanted to look at the building in the light of day. We noticed a few snags so asked if they could address the concerns. The doors were extremely stiff and would barely move. BV popped over, said he would get it sorted and was his usual friendly self. 30 minutes after he left I received a message saying he had cancelled the rest of the work and would get an ombudsman to close down the sight because we refused to pay! It had been 3 working days since we received the invoice and never once said we wouldnt pay, we simply asked why the doors were so stiff. We paid it without our concerns being addressed and the work resumed. Months went by and we didnt receive completion certificates so I looked on the council website. I was shocked to see planning permission had not been granted. BV didnt answer the phone and only when I saw his builder and mentioned legal action did he finally answer the phone. Apparently, this is the case for lots of the work he does (!!). He said he was assured on the phone that it would be fine. As a builder with 15 years experience, he knows thats not how it works. After 2 months of back and forth and BV actually getting back to me and giving me regular updates for once, it was sorted. 10 months since completion, the doors are still not fixed, plaster is coming apart, gutters are leaking, water gets in the house when it rains, the cladding is falling off. I have called and emailed, sent whatsapp messages and left voicemails. We have both given them plenty of chances to remedy this and havent heard anything in months. Last shocking discovery, BV admitted that the roof wasn't build according to the manual, which may cause the doors to be stiff, and are seeking advice from the manufacturer on how to fix this! No news for 2 months now... Do not make the same mistake we did. These people don't respect hard earned life savings and don't care about their after care duties. It's not worth the stress so choose a reputable company.

Previously, Mike and the Bellavista team replaced an old tired conservatory with a livin roof and new windows and doors. A full rebuild including electrics. I can not recommend them highly enough. Professional, competitively priced, innovative design, timely handled. The whole package. Very very reliable. Fast forward to this year when we needed a simple replacement bathroom window. Seamless. Still the high standards we experienced last year. Highly recommended!

We've had our extension now for a couple of months and we absolutely love it! It's opened up our existing living room and extended out giving us a lovely open plan feel and it looks great. Thoroughly impressed with all of the tradesmen that turned up along the way and all stayed late when needed, turned up on time, worked hard, cleaned up after themselves and delivered a high quality finish. In terms of timescales, we applied for planning in February/March time and hit a couple of snags which delayed the build for a couple of months, but come May we were well underway and everything ran really well and to timescales. This wasn't dragged out, it was well planned and coordinated by Mike and his tradesmen. Mike maintained great communication throughout and we have built up a good relationship with him over the last year of planning application and build stages. All in all we've had a great experience with Bellavista and we are really happy with this great new space for our family home :-)
