Lovely friendly, caring home. My dad recently stayed for respite and is now returning to live permanently as he loved his stay. Beautiful rooms and lounge areas. NO SMELL like other places we visited. Manager and her team worked very hard to make sure dad was comfortable and well cared for. Staff are very loving towards people that live in the home which I feel was so lovely and the smiles on all the faces show they like living there.

Its just a business. A care home ( staff try their best) only just , certainly NOT a nursing home. Its not even registered as a nursing home

My mum who has dementia went in there for 9 days respite while I was having a break , I was initially worried about this as this was the first time in respite . From the time I entered the care home my worries started to lessen firstly we had to sign in the reception room was very spacious clean and well lit and then we was greeted by the manager ms Adams and she was explaining how they work and then instructed a care worker to show mum up to her room there was a keypad system to get too each floor . On the floor where mum was there's a Large room where the residents eat have drinks with a separate area where they watch tv , then we walk down to the room where mum was staying and I had to admit I was amazed what the room was like , a large room that was was nicely decorated and wall to wall carpeting a single adjustable bed , double wardrobe , a tv on the wall and chest of drawers and also a lovely en suite disabled bathroom with shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful , so in conclusion I would recommend you put your loved ones in there and u will have peace of mind they will be in a great environment Update . I have now downgraded my original review (above) from 5 stars right down to a 1 star and this is because we were trying to my mum into bracebridge for a very short respite period 5 days , firstly we was told there was no respite beds available for the dates we needed so that was fine and we was looking elsewhere for respite , then two days ago my mums adult social worker phoned us up to say that a bed has become available but they didnt know if she needed to be reassessed again but the social worker said she provisionally booked it . So today I rang Bracebridge Court and spoke to the manager just to find out if another assessesment was needed but when I tried to explain to her what I needed to know she became very snappy and extremely dismissive and wouldnt let me explain all the details and to ask questions and all she said was that because last time because of her dementia and it was her first time ever in respite she found it hard to settle and was wandering at night and the manger said this upset other residents but Ive spoke to some of the staff since about this recently and they said no they wasnt upset its because the manager only likes the compliant docile ones just to make her job easier , and at the end of the call the manager said we cant meet my mums needs , she has dementia isnt that part of your job ? . So inconclusion I have complained to the company who own the home (runwood)about this matter and to the bad attitude conversation Ive had with the manager , and just incase you are thinking of putting you elderly in Bracebridge Court make sure you are 100% convinced its right because now I wouldnt let my dog stay they .
