Havent been to the Crewe for a while. The pub was busy, seemed understaffed and felt so sorry for a male waiter (didnt get his name), but he did a fab job with some rude customers. 1. My husband is allergic to tomatoes and asked for no BBQ sauce on his chicken. The waiter came out and said the kitchen had put BBQ sauce all over the chicken and would we be ok to eat it - unfortunately as BBQ sauce has tomato in it we were unable to eat it and had to wait for a new starter. I had eaten mine by the time my husbands came out. The manager did acknowledge this and took it off the bill. Maybe need some further training on allergens. 2. There was a massive table of posh/rude customers, who made a fuss of everything - commenting so loudly it spoiled the evening. I appreciate you have to serve everyone, but when they are so derogatory about your staff I would have kicked them out! Overall would I return probably, the manager was lovely, he recognised where things had gone wrong and acknowledged my feedback on the waiter that had to deal with the rudest customers I think I had every experienced

Really good atmosphere and we had a great team looking after us. The food was well made. Definitely will return.

Sunday lunch appalling, cauliflower cheese as an extra for 3.50 tasted like frozen cauliflower; mushy texture to the florets and hard cold stalks, the sauce tasted bland and no hint of cheese. The steak was mediocre, raw 'roasted' cherry tomatoes, not on the vine and definitely not roasted more charred on one side. Avoid at all costs. We didn't stay for dessert it was that bad!
