A nice place for a short stay. The hot water is great and it has character. The ceilings are low, my head touches the beams and I have to duck as I go through doors. It is close to the pubs and other facilities in the village. The floors creak upstairs and the stairs are not suitable for people with mobility issues, but these things didn't disturb us.

This was our second visit to The Roost and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is clean, very comfortable and the owners have obviously taken a lot of care to create a lovely welcoming "home from home". Askrigg is a lovely village with three great pubs all serving good food. There are beautiful walks on your doorstep and we particularly enjoyed a day trip to "The Forbidden Corner". Highly recommended, particularly for children. We love this cottage and we cannot wait to visit again!!
