Scales Farm Holiday Cottage

Scales Farm Cottage is the perfect base for a holiday with your horse. The facilities for the horses are excellent with a beautiful field that is secure with water, a yard area and stabling if required and lots of space for equipment. The cottage is spacious and well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The beds are also really comfortable. Important after an active day! Anita is a wonderful host who is happy to share her local knowledge and makes you feel so welcomed. We had a fabulous stay with our horses enjoying the local riding and also riding with a local guide from Lakeland Horse Trails. We highly recommend Scales Farm Holiday Cottage.

Scales Farm is a wonderful place to wind down and enjoy rides from your doorstep. We have booked this cottage every year for 5 years running. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, varied and easily accessed from your cottage door. We take our horses and thoroughly enjoy riding the many bridlepaths to either, pubs, cafes, etc. The accomodation is homely and comfortable. When we arrive, if it's chilly Anita has a warm glowing fire lit in the snug and biscuits with everything you need for you to make a coffe or tea waiting on a tray. A warm, welcoming, beautiful place. Ps The views over Ullswater from Askham Fell are magnificent! We even rode to Knipe Scar and looked over Haweswater this year. Amazing... highly recommended
