My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic weekend break in the cabins. It is the most idyllic Location I have ever had the privilege of being in. The scenery is breathtaking and it is serenely quiet other than the odd canoeist passing on the lake. Nicola is the most helpful host and very knowledgeable about the local area and wild life, of which there is plenty. We saw red deer, badgers, bats and even otters by the lake just before midnight. The accommodation is contemporary, comfortable and practical, with comfy beds and an extremely powerful shower and bath. For those that want to get away from crowds yet still experience all the Lake District has to offer I would not hesitate to book. It is about a 2 mile scenic walk to The Howtown Hotel, but the Lowther tearoom is only 5 minutes away through a field. We loved that we had to be driven to the cabins with our gear, truly providing a feeling of remoteness. We will definitely be returning and we cannot thank Nicola enough for her warmth and helpful persona.
