Arragons Cycle Hire

Great day out. We hired some electric bikes from the castle and had a great day and had amazing views. My recommendation is the electric bikes if unsure on ability as there are a few hills.

Definitely a recommended place to hire a bike from, especially at Lowther Castle, Penrith. Easy to use website, great bikes and equipment, all at reasonable prices. Andrea at Lowther Castle was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and an asset to Arragons Cycle Hire. She explained everything very well, including the various routes, plus her local knowledge was extremely useful. My girlfriend had not cycled for a long time and Andrea even took the time to make her feel comfortable and confident, which definitely enhanced our experience that day. We hired bikes yesterday from the Lowther Castle site and had a fantastic experience. Website was clear, bikes were great, trails were well signposted with stunning views and I highly recommend the e-bikes to help contend with the hills! Special mention to the member of staff on duty: she was so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and put us totally at ease-thank you!

I can only give it a 5 star review i'am afraid if i could give it 10 stars i would. FANTASTIC first time E-Bike experience. Booking online was a breeze got it done and dusted in no time . Read all the essential disclaimer stuff at the same time which speeded up the handover at 10am the following morning. I don't blame the company it's just the world we live in and they have to protect themselves from the odd idiot. Andy at Lowther Cycle Hire greeted me with a enthusiastic manner showed me how to work the bike had a quick whizz around the yard gave me route suggestions for the 3hr hire and off i went. Decided on the Askham Fell Loop from the castle was a mixture of gravel and tarmac minor roads the assistance level on the bikes can be altered from ECO,TOUR,SPORT OR TURBO put another way you decide on how much help you want with the pedalling. Used Tour for the tarmac bits and Turbo for the off road stuff.The E-Bikes are seriously good fun and just made the hills melt away and i thought i had finished with mountain bikes and was going to stick to the tarmac. Got back to the castle with a smile on my face and wanting more will defo be returning.Keep up the good work Team Arragon.

The area is amazing, the service is great, the bikes are light and easy to ride. We had a great day exploring, both adults and kids.
