        Just moved there and what a lovely little village. A lovely boating lake, local shops. People there are very friendly.lots of eateries around Askern, and The famous Woodshack in the little village opposite the lake, for a nice cocktail and a G & T. worth a day out. Just the other side of Selby off A19 . Some great local pubs nearby or on A19. Give it a try. We love it. And lovely for walks and child friendly.

        Askern Town's centre is the town centre and is the reference point for maps. The point was the town centre upto about 1911 and is the town centre from 2011, in between it was Askern's centre. The shopping centre and pop up market are around here.
