We have just got back from celebrating my other halves 30th Birthday at Clawford Lakes, and we had a lovely time! We staying in Floating Lodge 7 which had a gorgeous view of the lake. The place is still under construction, but the workers are very respectful and its not too loud even though the work was happening right next to us. The spa is to die for, Vicki was absolutely amazing with her Gaia massage. The food at the restaurant is nice, and all in all the grounds are beautiful. The only criticism we had was that for a luxury stay, the beds are very uncomfortable, the mattress is quite cheap and you can feel it. Also the oven didnt seem to heat up at all, which is fine as we could pan fry the sausages we bought, but it would be a challenge to use if you were planning on cooking. All in all, a beautiful stay in a great location, and so unbelievably dog friendly which was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back :)

Booked a last minute Easter break for myself, partner and dogs. Due to Easter traffic arrived quite late when reception was shut. There was no sign on the door how to check in, we found a member of staff to enquire with and guided us to the bar. We have an orchard apartment top floor. The apartment was very modern, well present and catered for. We especially loved the gesture of a welcome hamper consisting of local produce - bread, sausages, bacon, butter, milk and orange juice. The only negative was that there was an empty wine bottle on the balcony from previous guests. Improvements or feedback for the accommodation would be making all the glass on the balcony frosted, we felt a little uncomfortable sat on the balcony when the couple below were trying to enjoy their hot tub, alternatively even awning or some type of cover over the hot tub for their privacy and guests above. I would also suggest for hygiene reasons with pet accommodation that laminate or tiles throughout. As this is hard with dogs, coming back messy or if there was any unfortunate accidents. The lodges also looked spectacular, there is quiet a bit of grass verge in front of each and as another suggestion they would benefit to have fencing in front of each lodge so if you do have dogs, they have their own space safely to roam. We are at the restaurant for one night, the menu isnt extensive but as a lot to offer, but feel this could be slightly expanded. I would have loved to have seen a cream tea experience with local produce, this could even be done in a hamper style so you could take it out with you. The bar does stock essential items but if you do require anything else Holsworthy Co-op and Waitrose would be the next nearest shop. The lakes were beautiful and fabulous water activities too. A lovely spa and swimming pool to use as well. We will definitely recommend and visit again.
