My late father spent a few weeks in the Stamford, before transfer to a care home. The staff are clearly overwhelmed by the demands placed upon them. The decor of the rooms is depressing and gloomy. Dad came out worse than when he went in. A truly awful dungeon. Avoid at all costs if you can.

My wife has just been discharged at our insistence after one weeks incarsaration ! Poor communication of treatment plan ! Physio two ten minutes sessions in 5 days ! Cold food delivered at random times ! Staff pleasant ! Wife got covid but l was not told so l got it too on next visit to her ! Very disorganised !

My dad said that the food was delicious and that the nurses were good at showering him. Most staff, including cleaners and receptionists, were helpful. Unsurprisingly it seemed short staffed and many seemed to be doing double shifts. Due to the vast corridors and rotas it all seemed impersonal and isolating and sometimes I had to do a fair amount of pleading to get help for my dad. In reception there are various notices about the threat of covid and yet, for some reason, they seem to be dragging their heels about getting the patients vaccinated. Great that the patients get a bit of physiotherapy though. You get the vibe that they dont want you to get too settled because, as its NHS, they really want your bed. Delightful underused garden. Glad its there but glad to be out.
