Patrick is a great teacher, and a good guy with it. I had my first lesson 3 months ago and am surprised and delighted at how quickly I am progressing. After some initial technique work which is essential, we moved onto learning songs and understanding how and why the bass lines work well. He takes the approach of "Keep repeating until you cannot play it wrong." I also like the way he challenges me to come up with my own lines over the same piece. I highly recommend Patrick.

I have had over 2 years of lessons with Patrick and they are worth every penny ! Previous to coming under Patrick's tutorage I had been learning bass through 'self-help' books and I had picked up a lot of bad habits ! Thankfully all these bad habits are now gone and in their place is a solid grounding in bass theory and practice ! He certainly knows his way around this instrument and has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of bass music and can play the bass lines from any number of hundreds of songs to a very high standard. Due to lessons with him I now have a solid understanding of rock, reggae, funk, blues and also popular music bass techniques and how to adapt to the various subtleties which these demand. I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who wants to learn the bass or progress from beginner level to intermediate and beyond.
