Went to see the statue of Jack Charlton. Definitely worth going to see.

Playground: There are nice play and splash areas for young children, I have seen children, young people with special needs using splash facility. Dog-friendliness: There are many dog walkers that use the park, the majority are sensible, personally I think dogs should be on leads at all times in park.

The council works hard to keep this park nice. Lots of trees and planted areas, kids play and splash park, good paths (when the kids aren't smashing glass on them), pavilion seems to host a lot of activities, nice benches, very well kept bowling green, memorials to the miners and of course, the famous footballer keeping watch over the football fields. Lovely space in the middle of the town.
