I joined this class a little over twelve months ago, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it! The classes are mixed, and are for all abilities. Everyone helps each other and there is no specific time to join because each week covers a particular self defence technique, so just come along and join in. You'll be made welcome from the outset and your fitness and confidence will just grow and grow. Matt our instructor is excellent and will have you mastering the techniques in no time. Don't just think about it, do it! Ashby Hood Park Leisure centre, Thursday 7.30pm

If you're thinking about it, stop thinking and sign-up for a trial session. It's superb, a great instructor (Matt) and an excellent group to train with. There are a number of things that make Krav Maga the thing to do. There is no beginners group, you work on the same techniques as everyone else in the session, along with everyone else. Importantly for me, you can see that what you're learning can be applied in the real world, which is not always the case with other disciplines. You're also working on your general physical conditioning and fitness. It's a fantastic way of getting rid of any stress, a few minutes on the pads is excellent therapy!. It's win win, so what are you waiting for? See you at Hood Park on Thursday evening!

I've done a few martial arts in my time and In my opinion this is by far the most practical for every day situations, it provides solutions to every day situations from attacks, chokes ect and all delivered by the nicest man you could hope to meet. Matt is a great instructor and has time for everyone regardless of there abilities or age, the class is a wide mix ( male/female old and young) and very welcoming, give it a go you wont regret it

I had always wanted to try a martial art, but was looking for something that was defensive based as opposed to offensive, but due to often working away I was unable to take this any further. More recently when I was at home more often I spotted an advert for Krav Maga, something I had never heard of before. I observed a session in the Ashby Sports Hall & decided to have a go. I was however concerned that as a complete novice I would feel intimidated by the group & wondered if I was doing the right thing at my age. From that initial session, all my fears were unfounded, as Matt the instructor, along with the rest of the group were from the start friendly & welcoming. This was over a year ago, I have since attended the weekly sessions which are always varied & I never find them repetitive or boring, with Matt being instructive & encouraging. So if you fancy something different I recommend you come along & have a try, there are no limitations to gender, age, fitness or experience & you can gain valuable skills that could ultimately save your life.
