Our experience was poor, we found the food very bland and the service quite bad. Came for breakfast and had a disappointing porridge (though the rhubarb compote was great) and a slice of "toasted banana bread" (pictured) that came un-toasted and without butter. Three pounds for a small piece of a dry loaf seemed a bit of a kick in the teeth. Coffee was average, had a flat white that was more like a latte but tasted okay. Had a couple of poor experiences here recently but have held out on reviewing until now thinking it was probably bad luck. Staff all seemed really lovely but rushed off their feet and maybe the quality was suffering as a result.

Today I purchased a soup for a lady selling the big issue from number 14 and asked if they could hand it to her outside as I wasnt looking for anything from it other than filling a good deed and making someone smile! - after a terrible experience next door with the delicatessen refusing to help. Number 14 was busy, friendly, beautiful and nothing more than helpful! Thankyou very much for not only being friendly but doing it while you were clearly very busy! And also going out of your way to make someone smile!
