Brace yourself... you are going to cook a lot of dishes.!!! I went on the 2 day thai cooking course, and over the 2 days, you cover a lot of techniques and methods and ingredients. The class was 13 people, and everyone had a workstation. All ingredients are laid out for you, and all the washing up is done. However, you prepare the dishes from scratch, and it's a lot of chopping and grinding, so be warned . unlike some other cookery schools where you sit and watch a demonstration, and then maybe do a little bit of cooking, this is full-on and hands-on. The morning session is all geared around preparing lunch, and that means 3 hours on your feet with no break in between. Lunch can be 45 mins, and then it's back to work. Any food leftover you can take home The instructor Stuart was very good and knowledgeable, and he was ably supported by Phil, who was the ingredient master and then someone running the dishwasher . If you really want to learn how to cook, then this is the place to go. If your idea of a cooking course is to watch and drink coffee, then Ashburton won't suit you. I was exhausted at the end of each day, but it was a great experience, and I learnt so much Food & drinks: Its a cookery school!!!
