The food is home made and very good. the scones are amazing - large, moist, fresh, tasty and they come with things such as generous amounts of clotted cream, jam, chutney, chunks of cheddar and butter. The Orangery building is a different venue from most other places. The staff are mostly 'volunteers' from different countries so patience and understanding is required sometimes when ordering as English frequently isn't their first language. Beautiful grounds.

There is nothing not to like about Ashburnham Orangery. Except maybe the public convenience which is outside. As you drive in you get a stunning view of the building. Parking is available in two areas and there are plenty of spaces. The staff are very polite and our order came swiftly. I had a panni which was delicious, my friends had soup which came in a large bowl with several slices of bread and the other who's vegetarian found several options. She actually brought some vegetables which were outside the Orangery to purchase. We brought cake to take home because they looked irresistible. They were boxed up beautifully and were individually sliced. My slice will actually do two sittings because it was huge and so moist and delicious I came home feeling very relaxed and appreciated seeing friends in such a lovely place.
