UPDATE. Lovely little cafe serving Movenpick ice cream. Good service and great for healthy eats. There is a mini health food store next door as well. UPDATE: CAFE HAS CLOSED. Health food shop remains open and is recommended. (Not sure if they are still serving Movenpick.)

Walked passed here and looked in store. Saw some bits i wanted to buy... Noticed the owner never had a mask on so popped in.. owner asked us to put mask on so left as im not into breathing in my Own Carbon Dioxide / monoxide.. as we looked back on way passed, Owner was flapping and being rude as if we was 'unbelievable'.. Hypocrite Much. Masktards. If you never took these measures every single flu Season. Then you have to right to try and enforce masks now.. Facts are Facts and the influenza measured during any given time frame is more deadly than COVID. Do your own research and dont suck up the Mainstream Medias Fear mongering like Gulible Sheep.

When I called to ask for an email address so that I could send this message privately I was again confronted by rudeness and unpleasantness from the manager so Im having to post this on a public forum - this is the email I would have sent had the man not refused to give me his email address- I felt strongly that I needed to send you an email after the incident that happened in your shop this morning. As a caterer who often works in the area I do on occasion use your shop in fact I go out of my way to support you rather than co op or other cheaper local stores with a view to supporting Small local businesses. This morning however your/ your wifes/your husbands behaviour was totally unacceptable. When entering the shop without a mask- which Im exempt from wearing- I was in no better terms verbally attacked by the woman behind the counter- who incidentally was not wearing a mask- why was I not wearing a mask - she asked. I said i was exempt and rather than just dropping the subject she continued to prod and verbally aggressively demand a reason to why I wasnt wearing one and that I should carry a card I politely told her/you that it was non of her business why I wasnt wearing a mask and that I would happily go outside and stand by the door to be served- which both people (husband and wife) declined but continued to attack and confront me about my reasons. I continued with my purchase and the woman was rude, dismissive and unpleasant more or less throwing my change at me. In These uncertain times as a business dealing with the (often sensitive and vulnerable) general public- its your duty to not only treat your customers with kindness and respect but to know the law- for your information Im attaching a picture I took from the government website affirming that it is absolutely non of your business why I dont wear a mask and that it is personal choice whether or not I carry an exemption certificate or home made sign. You might consider understanding the LAW as you so rudely kept bringing up before you attack and alienate your customers. It is in fact also worth considering that as well as physical exemptions there are also emotional ones to not wearing a mask and that your behaviour this morning regardless of my reasons to not wearing a mask have left me feeling extremely upset , embarrassed and vulnerable. I have never been treated like this anywhere else Ive been. I would politely suggest that its in your best interest to treat your customers with a little more compassion in future especially seeing as non of your staff were wearing masks.

Good little shop, although would be great if was open til 5 or 6pm on at least one week week day, or open early from 8 sometimes. I work til 4.30 so can't often get to the shop, as don't generally come into town at weekend. Suspect this may be the case for others too. Any chance, gaskyns?
