Visited at lunchtime on Saturday 29th April (party of 3). It was our first visit. The pub was pleasantly quiet and we had a nice table overlooking the canal so we could see the many passing narrow boats. The mains were excellent (steak and ale pie; vegetable chilli; cheddar, leek and potato pie) and the portion sizes generous. We also had dessset (apple crumble; jam sponge; trifle cheesecake) and again these were very tasty. My only minor criticism is that I would have liked a bit more custard with the jam sponge! The service was friendly and attentive, and this, along with the super food, combined to make it a lovely experience, and we will certainly be back. The Ash Tree definitely deserves 5 stars!!
