Theres definitely potential but its not quite there yet We tried calling for two days to book a table after hearing rave reviews about the place since the takeover but the phone lines have been down - I had tried messaging the Facebook page too but had no reply Anyway, we chanced our luck and managed to get a table. The atmosphere and decor is really nice, its modern yet rustic at the same time, its a very comfortable place to be and you could easily spend a good few hours in here socialising. We were given food menus straight away and the choice of meals was brilliant, theres a bit of everything on there; from steak to salt and pepper chicken and everything in between Our drinks arrived, two pints of coke - my partner asked about getting a straw with her drink which the waitress seemed to laugh and say no before walking away - we then saw a woman with a cocktail which had a straw in it so who knows also, the coke didnt taste very good, it seemed very flat, almost as if it was Diet Coke or a cheap alternative brand. The food came VERY quickly, I ordered the chicken teriyaki with noodles and my partner ordered carbonara and chips. The food looks incredible, the chefs have absolutely smashed the presentation I just wish the taste lived up to the way it looks, both of our meals severely lacked in flavour and my chicken teriyaki should be renamed pepper teriyaki as the peppers massively outweighed the chicken which is disappointing for a meal that costs 15.95! Speaking of costs, it was an expensive meal overall for what we got, the tiny side portion of chips in a basket was 3.95 and on the menu coleslaw is the same price but garlic bread is cheaper, makes no sense to me The ladies we were served by were all very friendly, we also got served very quickly so I cant fault that. This place definitely has potential but for me it just lacks in certain areas right now, Ill definitely give the place a second chance in the future and re-review accordingly.
