Jamie Holroyd has offered me so much information about the layout of the fret board. He Presents all scales and chords in easy to read language and images of the neck that are readily understand. The tabbed passages he offers and videos display his prowess over the small group of top "online" generous teachers. Jamie is truly a highly skilled an knowledgeable player who seems to stand above the others offering authentic hip jazz in both very sophisticated and also very effective simpler patters that keep the jazz authentic, more so than the other similar web teachers. Jamie is excellent jazz guitar teacher who I can recommend very highly. When I first started lessons, although I had been playing for a while I was still at a very rudimentary stage and Jamie encouraged me and gave me hope that I could play jazz. He was very quick to realise where I was and give me a few manageable steps to get me up to working on jazz standards. A lot of our work has been around particular songs working on related scales and improvisation. I like this approach as it makes me feel that playing the music is within reach. I am now studying towards grades alongside working on songs, as a way of consolidating my knowledge, technique and musicality. Jamie has been knowledgeable about various grade systems available and we have been able to explore a number of options. What seemed at first sight daunting has with his help begun to seem manageable. Jamie is always positive, even when things arent going well he praises my good work and helps keep up my morale. Last year I had a major set back due to a cerebral haemorrhage, and Jamie has helped me pick up the pieces such that now I am playing again near to my previous level. There is no way I could have done this without Jamies help and encouragement. He always seems to set goals and exercises at exactly the right level, to be a stretch but not so hard as to discourage. Looking back I have learned a lot about jazz and developed my technique and repertoire during my time studying with Jamie. As a bonus lessons are occasionally peppered with a sample demonstration of Jamies playing which is always a treat to listen to, and an inspiration for what can be done on the jazz guitar.

As an older, newbie student, struggling to get up to speed, Jamie is the best and easiest teacher I have found in this wide world of on-line instruction. Jamie's lessons are clear and very instructive! Best I've found, and plan to continue. Thanks!

all promotions aside. I ran into Jamie's works quite by accident which I have found to be one of my better accidents I might add. I enjoy everything I have seen , I learned bits & pieces that have recreated what I do bringing me into my own just even a few days ago on a piece I wrote. Jamie is one of the few that made a piece of me. I am sorry it took this long to make a tick about this, lost my eyesight in my dominant eye a few months ago & am a wee bit behind on things. Thanks , just thanks..
