This is a beautiful old worldly pub in a stunning location. We stopped in a couple of times while out walking. Next time, we will definitely try the food. The menu looked good to me and the staff were very friendly.

Stopped here after a ten mile long walk, we were both ready for some sustenance and refreshments.. The pub itself is absolutely beautiful and full of ole worlde charm. The staff were very friendly attentive and helpful ..bringing us out menus..explaining the way back to our campsite etc. I had a pot of tea which was served absolutely correctly in a pot..with extra water and lots of milk.. My partner had a local beer which he was also very happy with. We ate outside and both ordered the fish stew from quite an extensive and reasonably priced menu. However..i was slightly disappointed with mine as i dont tolerate spices well..and the stew came with quite a strong curry flavour ( which wasnt needed anyway as the fish is flavoursome enough) but my partner enjoyed it! Lovely views.. Also they do let out shepherd huts around the back which we are considering doing in the future.

Absolutely wonderful, with real fire and good traditional ales. Well worth a visit. Will be going back but parking is a potential nightmare, particularly in the summer. The neighbouring camp site charges 10 per day to park there-outrageous!

Wonderful pub with a lot of character and history with a couple of old school fireplaces. Lots of places to sit outside when the weather is nice, with great countryside views all around. Food was tasty but portion size a little small (Venison Steak) Service was excellent and staff were friendly and welcoming
