What an amazing place, I was just expecting to buy a few paints as I wanted to get back into acrylics. It was like a little workshop Mark was really helpful and knowledgeable and guided me through everything relevent to my art style and what would be useful to me right through to explaining the process of pigments, processing and the mediums. So interesting, they have their own paint pigments from the local stone and slate in beautiful tones with burnt tones too. Very special I could go on and on but visit and see for yourself, Visit when you have plenty of time to chat and appreciate what they do here!!! Thank you, I will be back!

Arrived at the shop not knowing what to expect and facing a lot of pots of powder amongst other painting materials. I was greeted by the lovely lady at the desk and led to who i believe was her husband.... a very colouful character and super jolly chap. He explained all about pigments and even insisted i sit down at his desk and try mixing a pigment powder with a brush, almost in Artist workshop style. This chap is the most warm and enthusiastic guy I think I've ever met. Very knowledgeable artistically and a joy to purchase materials from...and similarly delightful to work with I'm sure if you are interested in commissioning one of his architectural impressions of your beautful home. Really enjoyed the visit to your shop. Thanks Mark Hilsden for making me feel special.
