Ampleforth Post Office

Customer service definitely not improving! If being friendly and wanting to offer good customer service isn't your thing, why run a village store and post office? I understand the place is for sale and really hope someone new takes over soon. After yesterday's experience, I went to Easingwold Post Office instead today - found them friendly, helpful, smiling. Also use Thirsk occasionally which is equally good. But, if you like your shopkeepers rude and with an unhelpful attitude, then I highly recommend the Ampleforth experience! Such a shame as it is our nearest shop...

Wednesday afternoon 2nd June - the lady who served me at the post office counter was extremely rude, abrupt and unfriendly. As a visitor to the area she doesnt put Ampleforth on the map as being a welcoming place to be. Clearly customers are too much trouble for her to take time with and she needs a refresher or customer relations.

I have never come across such a rude and horrible lady in my life! She certainly is not fit to be working in a post office. I thought that the post office maintained high standards, not now!

13/7/21 Went in to collect an Amazon parcel lady serving behind the counter quite frankly down right rude. How she is working in a front facing customer role I dont know. She even started to complain to the next customer about my partner who had only asked her to check for a second package which we had notification had arrived. Wish we had read the previous reviews before using this Post Office.

Absolutely disgusting the way I was spoken to, all because I disputed the fact they were trying to overcharge for a large letter. Raising her voice and arguing with me, stomping about, chucked my letter. I was in shock and embarrassed in front of a shop full of people. Need teaching about customer service. Never in my life will I step foot in here again.
