Holiday Inn Salisbury - Stonehenge, an IHG Hotel

Reserved a room for a single night to visit Stonehenge, which is a short drive from the hotel and is in a good location for this purpose. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and cannot be faulted. However, the hotel in general was of a poor standard compared to other IHG hotels. The room (twin standard) that was allocated for our stay looked outdated and was not the cleanest, especially the bathroom. Unlike the lobby and the adjacent restaurant area, the room and the corridors could do with better lighting as the current lighting made this part of the hotel dark, dull and a little depressing. The positives however are that the beds were comfortable and the room was well insulated from the sound of traffic on the main road. The restaurant compared to the actual room, was very good. The breakfast was good with a variety of options available and was reasonably priced too. There is free parking on-site.
