Nursery seems nice but the Manager promotes controlled crying, discussed with her my daughters nap routine as I comfort her and she suggested if shes fed and changed and needs are met and she cries when you put her down to sleep then leave her for periods of time etc. What is with this? Why are we still being told to leave poor babies to cry?! Obviously her needs are not met if shes crying. She was 11 months old at this time. This put me off completely.

We couldnt recommend this nursery enough. Our son joined at 3 after being with a brilliant childminder since 9 months old and I was a little nervous about how hed find it and settle in. He LOVES going and asks everyday if hes going to Ollie Owl today. The updates we get on the app are great so I know what hes been up to, what skills hes learned and how hes tracking and theres a nursery cam so I can login and watch him (if I have the time!) I can see what food hes eaten through the day and I know that hes safe and happy. The staff are all so friendly and greet us every morning with a smile and I know Wilfred loves spending his time with them, so I can work without worrying about him. He tells me all about his day and I can just see the joy in his face. Were so pleased with the nursery and will be sending our second son there next summer.

My two boys have been at Ollie Owl for a year and started when they were just over 1 and just over 3. I cannot recommend them highly enough. My boys love it there, they run in in the mornings without a second look back to me and I adore hearing their chitter chatter about their days. I was fortunate to settle them in briefly in between lockdowns and saw 1st hand how gentle and kind Jo and her team are. My littlest was very difficult at drop off to start with and the staff were patient, kind and very loving to him (and me!) and would always call me, without my even asking, to let me know he had settled and started his breakfast happily. A great feature is NurseryCam which allows you to check in on your little one. It would often be the start of nap time when I would check in on my lunch break. The workers are there in the room with the little ones as they go to sleep and I often saw my little one getting a good back rubbing to settle him off into the land of nod. The premises are large, well decorated with artwork from the children and nicely stocked with lots of lovely toys and books. They have a very strong clear focus on fun and play but I admire the crafty tricks they use to sneak in numbers, letters and writing. The outside space is generous and they have different areas for the big and little kids. We are often being sent pictures of the kids growing bits and bobs and have received some seedlings they have started growing and are for us to continue at home. The menus available are varied and healthy and the children always eat well there. The response to the pandemic has been fantastic. Communication is clear and frequent and I applaud how they have managed bubble collapses etc. Despite not being allowed into the nursery we get daily pictures and updates as to what they get up to as well as the usual early years reviews. I cannot thank Jo and her team enough for looking after my boys. I know when they are at Ollie Owl they are safe, loved and most importantly...having fun! (They even put on spa days for the kids if you can believe it!!).

I highly recommend Ollie Owl to anyone who is looking for childcare and amazing experiences for their children. My daughter has been at Ollie Owl since the nursery opened when she was a baby and she has blossomed into an amazing, independent and intelligent young lady. Jo and her team offer the most professional, caring and responsive care and are focused completely on the children's wellbeing and learning. My daughter now teaches me things I didn't know! Their response to the pandemic was incredible and the integration back to nursery has been flawless. My daughter is at Ollie Owl full time and I am so happy that I can go to work knowing that she is safe and loved. Highly recommended nursery.
