Reasonably priced but wait... I am an astute buyer. I have lived in both the Northern & Southern hemisphere. I like to buy the best quality for the lowest price. I, like many others have found (especially recently) that quality comes at a cost. I don't have faith in many other companies (apart from one very large one that likes to fix things with a screw) and I also don't like to pay top dollar. I used to think that local-centric companies like this were a waste of time but I am converted and I don't think we realise the importance of the individual attention they can offer. Firstly, we all think we are refurb kings. Our Father (or Mothers) had the attitude of "Just Do It" (before N*ke), and we just got on with it, especially with the help of YouTube. The REASON I buy from Gil-Lec is they HAVE the knowledge, the expertise and the experience to provide the best solution. They also (and in my opinion most importantly) give great after sales support. They retail products they believe in. Yes I can buy x LED Downlights elsewhere, but have they been tried and tested? Is that CE mark just a sales ploy within a high profile online sales company and what the heck happened to the BS KiteMark? I would rather fit out my house with an expert and answerable company like Gil-Lec that takes responsibility for the products they recommend and sell, than risk the associated problems that may arise from sales companies that take no responsibility for the products they merely retail. As an after note: Before writing this review I have seen some negative opinions, and I can't argue with that. We all have our own experiences. I would like to mention however, that for (what seems like the last decade) I have always had great customer service and in particular from a chap named Russell. He has always "gone beyond" when it comes to customer care and has taken responsibility if there is an issue rather than shy away. A true gent and how business should be done. So to summarize... You could possibly buy marginally cheaper online, but for me, after sales is king. I don't mind paying for excellence.
