Dear skaters, dear all. I am the father of a 14-year-old boy who bought a Slamm Strobe II scooter for his 13th birthday. I would like to warn you that under no circumstances use Slamm scooters (designed as Stund scooters, by the way) in the way presented in these articles. According to the distributor (Stateside Skates Ltd) and also the seller in Slovakia, the scooters are intended only for normal use, which probably means no jumping from curbs, grinding and not riding skate parks at all. Buy the Slamm scooter only if you ride it in shopping malls or on a straight sidewalk, otherwise you will end up like my son. After 20 months from the purchase (not 20 months of use, because we have a winter at SVK when you really can't ride a scooter - so for 6 months the scooter was in the garage and since the boy goes to school 5 days a week, these days were not a scooter used), after a jump from a raised curb and a subsequent tailwhip, the scooter broke. It is clear to me that this fracture was not only caused by this last jump, but it was a fatigue of the material, perhaps a bad weld. The reaction of the seller (Korcule.com) and subsequently the distributor (Stateside Skates Ltd) based on the sent photos of the mobile phone (!) Was that I quote: "This warranty does not cover damage caused by: - Misuse, or contrary to the advised or agreed use, improper assembly or maintenance or normal wear. Improper installation of wheels, ball bearings, springs, deck and other parts of the scooter. External causes, such impacts against the curbs, barriers, obstacles and sudden or excessive forces or stresses. Inappropriate repairs or modifications This product conforms to EN14619: 2004 Warning! If you ride your scooter in a manner that places large forces and stresses on the product, the scooter will not be covered under warranty. The scooter is designed to meet applicable safety standards, however the forces exerted through extreme riding may cause premature wear to all parts! " So think carefully about buying these scooters if you want to use them in an external environment and load them extremely - this has been confirmed by the official distributor - Stateside Skates | Extreme Sports Distribution (sic). But I'm very glad that nothing happened to him in this accident, because watching videos and pictures of young people jumping on these scooters and doing tricks, I'm starting to have serious concerns about their health.
