Wasn't sure exactly what to expect but Phil is a very competent and knowledgeable sports/bike fitter with years of experience in the UK cycling industry. The whole session was very valuable in making sure the bike was "fitted" to me as opposed to me "fitted" to bike. There was a significant improvement in both posture, fit and increase in measurable power on a simple Zwift ride. Its amazing what a few centimetres in the right places can do. The session addressed all of my bad (weak?) points and Phil added several more pointers to help me on my cycling journey as an amateur rider looking for improvement. This session was very good value and I highly recommended Phil to anyone keen on improving their cycling capability.

I was doing a lot of indoor turbo training sessions and this was highlighting an increase in discomfort on sessions over about 30mins. I started tweaking saddle height and set-back/tilt trying to get comfortable and even swapped in a couple of different saddles. I was heading down a rabbit hole so I decided I needed a proper bike fit. Phil was fairly local to me and had good reviews. I went there expecting a new saddle and lowered the seat position, but quite the opposite!! We started with a baseline video check of angles and to my surprise from there the seat height went up and way back from where I had it. Then a new saddle was tried but my Selle Italia SLR Superflow (long nose) was now feeling a lot more supportive than painful. We ended the session with a shorter stem and the overall result was a lowered upper body, less weight on the hands, more power sustained for longer (as tested on my indoor sessions following the fit) and a more solid feeling seating position. I have since purchased new bib shorts as recommended by Phil which has increased the comfort level further (he recommended spending no less than 100-125, and I think he's right; there's a huge difference in quality and effectiveness between cheap and more expensive chamois). Highly recommended and invaluable investment and look forward to getting back out on the roads!
