Such kind people. Away on holiday and broke my glasses, they called me a few hours later and said managed to glue for now for a short term fix and wouldnt accept any money for it. I obviously insisted but the optician then gave my daughters a little pressie each of sweeties! I will be spreading the good word about such good value people and know they would do an excellent job on your next pair of glasses. Lovely shop too!! Thank you!:)

I was offered an appointment after I walked in with a relatively fresh concern, having been pointed in the direction of this Optometrist by my local GP practice. Both receptionist and Dr Ahmed were warm/friendly, professional and thorough. My thoughts/questions were listened to carefully and responded to with genuine interest and clear but human communication. I never felt a sense of urgency from them to get me assessed and out. I came away feeling at ease/content with the issue! Would highly recommend without any doubt whatsoever! Many thanks R :)

On holiday and Nose pad on my glasses broke, the lovey staff at Ambleside Opticians fixed them for me happily given the glasses weren't from them. Thanks for a very friendly and professional service

We called at Ambleside Options and I must say we received the best possible service. We were on a weeks holiday in Ambleside when my 9 year old son was squirted in the eye by a faulty hand sanitizer dispenser, his screams were awful. After hurrying to the health centre we were told that we would be better at the chemist or optitions. When we arrived at Ambleside Optitions Dr Ahmed must have heard us speaking with the receptionist regarding an appointment and came over and said she would see him right away. In fact she had waited late the previous evening after some confusion with the health care phone call. She gave my son a thorough examination, explaining as she went in a calming and professional manner, and was patient and reassuring with her explanations. I can't speak highly enough of our visit and would highly recommend Ambleside Optitions, and offer my thanks and gratitude to Dr Ahmed and her team.

Today I needed an emergency opticians appointment in Ambleside. I am from out of the area, visiting on a four day break with my family and today was our last day and I could hold off no longer the pain in my eye was not getting better and I called Ambleside opticians in the hope the optician would be able to see me during their emergency clinic. The receptionist was charming and so helpful and organised for an appointment one and a half hours later. I was advised I may need to wait a little but that I would be seen and accessed and the cost span was also advised. I arrived and again the receptionist was really helpful and we went through my details together so that all of my information was ready for the optician to review. I waited a little while, the receptionist was helping another lady choosing her glasses frame. All really lovely and welcoming, I thought how nice this opticians was. Then I was called through by the optician approx 45 minutes following my arrival. Here is where I felt the need to write this review. Many questions were asked of me by the optician, all of which I felt overwhelmingly judged upon. I am a pretty healthy person, I exercise, I eat mostly well, I dont carry extra weight, a passing comment was made about my cholesterol which I have not had any issue with to date... I was then told I had developed an eye ulcer which I am lead to believe is probably because I failed to put eye drops in whilst wearing my contacts lenses. I have been wearing contact lenses since I turned approx 15, I am now 44. I am not sure how this would be the route cause even now some hours later. The optician then asked me to call my local opticians to find out how to refer me locally. I gained this information and had the contact details passed back to me to telephone and organise. Luckily my local optician had advised me that this was the responsibility of the optician to refer me and I kindly advised of this. I was sent back to the waiting area for a while, the optician came out approx 15 minutes later they had not been able to contact my local hospital so they would email me the details of my appointment with them and could I pass this information to my local optician to address. I had been told that this was an emergency and then now that it was ok to wait for my local optician to address. I left quite confused and with a bill that did not seem to fit the service provided. I followed up with my local hospital myself and arranged an appointment for tomorrow, which is only really at the mercy of my local hospital taking pity on me as this would be outside of normal protocol. Sadly I would not recommend this opticians. If you do not have the time for your patients please dont allow the appointment to be made, I left with no idea how or when I would receive further treatment and no confidence that I had been cared for.
