Paws by the Lake - Ambleside Pet & Gift Shop

We have been going to Paws by the Lake since we moved to Ambleside in 2021. It is a fantastic pet shop which caters for just about anything you could want or need for your pooch! Perhaps the best thing is the welcome and obvious expertise from Caroline the owner who is clearly passionate about what she does. She has always been on hand to offer brilliant advice and is so evidently a true dog lover to the extent that our dogs now make a beeline for the shop whenever we are in the area. We are so grateful to have this shop on our doorstep and it is important that we all continue to support our vital local businesses. We and our dogs love Paws by the Lake and will continue to shop there whenever we need top notch stuff for the dogs. We can highly recommend this super shop!

Couldnt really spend a lot of time in the shop considering it was incredibly smelly. I wouldnt usually say since its a pet shop but you need to air this place out we did a 180 as the place smelled like rotten chew sticks

I just love this pet shop. You couldn't ask for better service from people who absolutely love dogs, and know their stuff!! They have an amazing selection of food and natural dog treats (without the grains and fillers), for even the most sensitive of doggy stomachs, that encourage our four legged friends, to tap into their natural smelling instincts, and enrich playtime. Also, worth mentioning is their great selection of beds, toys, leads and harnesses to choose from. They help with measuring and fitting harnesses, so you're guaranteed to get the perfect fit. (And if cats are your thing, I've noticed they do have a selection of feline products too). The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and always happy to offer training advice where she can. Whenever, we've popped into the shop with our spaniel, we've always come away with so much more knowledge and a very happy dog, who has been pampered. Thank you - your shop is pawfect!!
